He has been a principal of Crime Prevention Associates, founded in 1986, and co-developer of LossVision loss reporting software and Safe and Sound, a violence avoidance training module marketed by Learning Dynamics. He is a recipient of the CSO Compass Award, National Food Service Security Council Lifetime Achievement Award, and Starbucks Coffee Spirit of Starbucks Award. D'Addario is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and Community Emergency Response Team member (CERT).
D’Addario’s volunteer leadership has contributed to the development of guidelines and resources for the U.S. Department of Justice, the International Standards Organization, and Three Projects One Community, a $29 million capital campaign that funded a permanently affordable artist residence and arts performance venue; a transitional housing development; and a food distribution and community resource center in Seattle, Washington.
